1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files (or equivalent storage technologies like localStorage and IndexedDB) stored on your device when you visit a website. They hold small amounts of data specific to you and your visits, enabling the site to remember things like your login state or preferences between page loads. This Cookie Policy explains how YesMeta uses cookies, what categories we use, and how you can control them.

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

(A) Strictly Necessary / Essential Cookies

These cookies are required for the Service to function and cannot be switched off. They are usually set only in response to actions you take, such as logging in or completing a form. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the Service will then stop working.

yesmeta_session — stores your authenticated session token (expires: on browser close if "remember me" is unchecked; 30 days if "remember me" is checked).
csrf_state / _xsrf-style tokens — used by our CSRF protection to prevent cross-site request forgery on forms and authenticated actions (expires: session).
rate_limit_key — stores a signed identifier we use to enforce fair usage / rate limits for guest users (expires: 24 hours).
consent_seen — records whether you have already been shown the cookie consent banner so we do not show it on every page (expires: 12 months).
cart / checkout_state — used only during the Polar checkout flow to preserve your plan selection from Pricing page through to redirect (expires: session).

(B) Functional / Preference Cookies

These enable enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you disable them, some or all of these services may not function properly.

ui_theme — stores UI preferences (for example, the last dashboard tab you viewed, default tool options) to speed up your next visit (expires: 12 months).
saved_filters — stores filter selections in tool-history and billing-history tables (expires: 12 months).

(C) Analytics & Performance Cookies (Optional)

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Service (for example, which pages are most popular, where drop-off occurs, or whether a new button is being clicked). They are opt-in only via the consent banner and will not be set unless you explicitly accept analytics cookies. All analytics data we collect is aggregated and anonymized where possible; we never use analytics cookies to track you across third-party websites.

analytics_id / equivalent — first-party analytics identifier if/when we enable analytics (expires: 13 months).
Third-party analytics provider cookies may also be set on the yesmeta.com or vendor domain per each provider's policy — the consent banner lists the exact vendors enabled at any given time.

(D) Marketing & Advertising Cookies (Currently Disabled)

We do not currently run third-party ad networks or set advertising / retargeting cookies. If we add any in the future, they will be strictly opt-in via the consent banner and listed here with their retention periods and vendor names.

3. Third-Party Cookies & Embeds

Some pages on YesMeta may embed content from third parties (e.g., support widgets, video tutorials) that set their own cookies. These cookies are governed by the privacy policies of those third parties, not this Cookie Policy. We only embed trusted partners and require each to provide GDPR/CCPA-compliant consent signals where applicable.

4. Cookie Retention Summary

Cookie type	Typical retention
Session / essential (no persistence flag)	End of browser session
Login "remember me"	30 days
Consent / preference cookies	12 months
Analytics cookies (if accepted)	Up to 13 months
Checkout state	Session / 7 days max

5. Cookie Consent Banner

On your first visit from an EEA, UK, California, Brazilian, or other privacy-regulated region, you will be shown a cookie consent banner that lets you:

Accept all: enables all categories of cookies.
Reject all (non-essential): only strictly necessary cookies are set.
Manage preferences: a modal where you can toggle individual non-essential categories on and off.

Your selection is saved in the consent_seen cookie for 12 months. You can revisit your choice at any time by clicking the "Cookie Preferences" link in the site footer.

6. How to Block or Delete Cookies via Your Browser

You can control and/or delete cookies via your browser settings. Helpful links for popular browsers:

Blocking essential cookies will prevent login, rate-limiting, and form submissions from working correctly.

7. Cookie-Like Technologies

In addition to HTTP cookies, we use browser localStorage and sessionStorage to store UI state (last-viewed tab, search filters, draft newsletter content) client-side. These are always first-party, YesMeta-only storage. They are cleared when you sign out of your account, or you can clear them via browser "Clear Site Data" options.

8. Changes to This Cookie Policy

When we change this Cookie Policy materially (for example, adding a new category of non-essential cookies), we will update the effective date below and trigger the consent banner again for users in regulated regions to re-collect explicit consent.
