1. Overview

This Cancellation Policy describes how to cancel your YesMeta Premium subscription, what happens when you cancel, the difference between "cancellation at end of term" and "immediate refund", and the behavior of your account during and after cancellation. This policy complements — and should be read alongside — our Refund Policy and Terms of Service.

2. How to Cancel (Self-Serve, End of Term)

The standard, self-serve way to cancel is at the end of your current paid term ("EOL" or end-of-life cancellation). This is the default behavior of the Polar Customer Portal.

Log in to your YesMeta dashboard.
Navigate to Account Settings → Plan & Billing.
Click the "Open Customer Portal (Polar)" button.
Inside the Polar portal, select your active subscription and choose "Cancel subscription".
Confirm cancellation. Polar will show you the exact date access ends.

Once cancellation is confirmed, no further renewal charges will occur. You will receive an automated confirmation email from Polar and from YesMeta. If you do not receive it within 15 minutes, check spam or contact support.

3. "Immediate Cancel" vs End-of-Term — The Difference

Standard self-serve cancel (default): Always end-of-term. Your Premium access continues until the paid period you have already been charged for is fully used up. There is no partial refund and no immediate loss of paid features.

"Immediate cancel" (non-standard, case-by-case): If you require an immediate plan downgrade to Free (and, optionally, a refund for the unused portion of your term), you must email support@yesmeta.com and explicitly request immediate cancellation. These requests are not available via a self-serve button because they involve manual review. Immediate cancellations are granted only when paired with a refund approved under the Refund Policy (or a documented exception). If approved, your plan tier is set back to 'free' on the date we process the request, and any pro-rated or full refund is issued via Polar.

4. Retention of Access During Cancellation Period

When you cancel end-of-term, you keep full Premium-level access and Premium usage limits until the exact billing-period expiration date. Specifically, you continue to enjoy:

Unlimited SEO audits, full-page screenshots, and sitemap analyses
Elevated rate limits for lightweight tools
Priority processing for heavy tools
Extended tool-history retention (Premium: 12 months)
Full CSV/JSON exports of saved reports

None of these are reduced or throttled during the "canceled but not yet expired" phase.

5. Post-Cancellation Behavior

On the exact end date of the last paid period (as shown in the Polar portal and your YesMeta billing history), the following happen automatically:

Your plan_tier in your user profile is set back to free.
All Premium-level rate limits and tool quotas are replaced with the Free-tier limits listed on our pricing page.
Premium-only features (priority queue, advanced export options, extended history window beyond 90 days) are disabled.
Your account remains active and is not deleted. You can continue to log in with the same credentials.
Saved tool history older than the Free-tier retention window (90 days) may be anonymized or removed on a rolling basis, but anything within the last 90 days is preserved.
You can resubscribe at any time from the Pricing page or your dashboard to re-enable Premium.

6. Failed Renewals & Grace Period

If your renewal charge fails (expired card, declined, insufficient funds, etc.), your subscription enters a past-due state. YesMeta (through Polar) will automatically retry the charge on a standard retry schedule (typically day 1, day 3, day 5, day 7 of the past-due window) and will email you a secure payment-update link after each failed attempt. During the grace period (minimum of 7 days; extended at our discretion for long-standing customers), Premium access remains active so you are not disrupted.

If you do not update your payment method and all retries fail, the subscription is canceled at the end of the grace period. Your plan then reverts to Free and is treated as a normal EOL cancellation per Section 5.

7. Reactivation After Cancellation

To reactivate after an end-of-term cancellation has taken effect, simply purchase a new Premium subscription via the public Pricing page or your dashboard. You will receive a new term (monthly or annual) and new billing dates. Your historical billing history and past invoices remain visible in the dashboard.

To reverse a cancellation before the term has actually expired, log back into the Polar Customer Portal and click "Reactivate" before the end date — the scheduled cancellation will be canceled and your auto-renew will resume as normal with no gap.

8. Data on Cancellation

Cancellation does not delete your YesMeta account or any account data. If you want your account and all associated data fully deleted, you must also submit a data-erasure request under our Privacy Policy by emailing support@yesmeta.com with the subject "Account & Data Deletion Request". We will confirm erasure within 30 days (or as required by applicable law), subject to our standard retention windows for billing records.

9. No Partial-Period Refunds for Standard Cancellations

Standard end-of-term cancellations do not, on their own, result in any pro-rated or partial refund. Your access was already provided for the full duration of the billing cycle you paid for, and the charge was earned accordingly. 10. Updates

This Cancellation Policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be noted by a new effective date below and, where reasonable, we will notify active subscribers by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
